A DATE TO COME HOME
Hello everyone! So a lot has happened these past couple weeks! Well at least in the mission life a lot has happened. So my companion had to return home to Mexico due to borders closing because of the coronavirus. All the missionaries not from Canada or US had to go home unless their borders. So the mission president sent me to the Spanish branch for a week until we had our transfers. He ended up just sending me back to the same city so I am still in Red Deer and I will be finishing my mission here! Since I would be going home before September I am now going home in May at my 21 month mark! I am sad that I don't get to serve the full 2 years but I am happy to give others this amazing opportunity to be a missionary by me returning home a little early. My new comps name is Elder Johns and he is really cool he's been out for about a year and a half just a couple months behind me. We are serving in an English ward trying to work with the members the best we can but it's pretty hard right now haha. Hopefully this quarantine stuff ends before I go home! We were able to go over to the members houses for general conference and that was great! There were so many amazing talks I am super excited to go back through and read them again! Other than that we are keeping busy by doing video call lessons, exercising, and a lot of studying! Before the mission I would hardly study anything but now I love studying and learning new things from it. That is definitely one thing that I've changed and I'm super grateful for it. In Edmonton while I was there for a week, we started doing English classes over Zoom and so far we have had a lot of success from that! We are trying to think of more ways we can continue the work through technology! Well that's basically it for this time! I am doing well trying my best to stay healthy & I hope you all are too! Hopefully you all were able to enjoy your Easter this weekend with your families and friends! Los quiero a todos! Have a great week/month (in case I don't send another email for a while haha)!
